Born on April 27, 1989 in Roseville, California, Robin Thrush Jr. Is a fifth generation
musician. Thrush family members have worked as musicians, singers and even
Vaudeville performers.
Robin received his first electric guitar for Christmas at the age of two years. At the age
of three, his father began teaching him guitar and keyboard. Due to his “unusual aptitude
and interest” in the guitar, these lessons and “jam sessions” soon became a daily treat
for young Robin.
Robin’s exposure to music has been in depth and diverse. Robin listens to and enjoys
many types of music, ranging from classical to modern. Most notably, he studies the
masters of electric guitar. Heros and influences include: Jeff Beck, Chuck Berry, Eric
Clapton, Albert Collins, Jimi Hendrix, Albert King, B.B. King, Freddie King, Alvin
Lee, Eddie Van Halen, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Johnny Winter. Naturally inclined to
create and not to imitate, Robin Thrush Jr. Is definitely not a product of “learn to
play guitar in the style of...” Instructional videos.
Extremely focused and self motivated with a musical maturity far beyond his years,
Robin Thrush Jr. enjoys many other activities including: computers, video games,
skateboarding, drawing, and martial arts. Robin has earned a blue belt in Kempo Karate.
Born to Play is Robin’s debut studio album. We all hope you enjoy listening to it,
and we think you will agree, Robin Thrush Jr. Was “Born to Play!”
